Overview

The Senior Category Marketing Manager holds the crucial responsibility of developing and implementing extensive marketing strategies for the largest category (Supplies) within the ODP Business. This role demands exceptional leadership skills, strategic thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to drive change across the category and the entire organization.

Working closely with product management and sales teams, the Senior Category Marketing Manager takes the lead in planning, developing, and executing activation strategies for various products. These activation strategies encompass line extensions, portfolio additions, private brand initiatives, and new product launches. Close collaboration with cross-functional teams such as brand, content, and creative teams is essential to ensure the effective implementation of marketing strategies.

Additionally, the Senior Category Marketing Manager will collaborate on a day-to-day basis with PPP (Preferred Partner Program) vendors associated with the Supplies category to ensure smooth execution of marketing programs throughout the calendar year.

In addition to overseeing day-to-day PPP activities, the Senior Category Marketing Manager plays a significant role to the strategy development for the Preferred Partner Program (PPP) in order to foster continuous growth for the organization and its partners.  Moreover, the role provides pathways and opportunities for assuming team leadership responsibilities in the future. This includes the potential to lead and guide a team, influence decision-making, and make a significant impact on the team's success and overall organizational objectives.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • PPP ownership: Identifying and implementing key initiatives, evaluating performance, and optimizing strategies to maximize joint growth and success within the program
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the market category (value proposition, pain points, size, growth, trends) 
  • Strategize, build and execute full funnel marketing activations for products and/or categories that lead to increased leads and meets revenue goals.
  • Manage category specific vendors and preferred vendors to ensure all activities that are contractually agreed upon are executed.  Provide reporting on activities to demonstrate success of vendor funded tactics.
  • Manage product positioning on ecommerce website- including keeping PDP up to date
  • Manage financial budget relevant for your category and products and work with marketing operations on ROI reporting.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Marketing and/or Economics
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in category or brand management
  • Salesforce, Dynamics, Marketo, Hubspot
  • Strong understanding of product activation strategies and experience in executing successful marketing campaigns
  • Ability to think strategically in order to translate market insights into actionable strategies that drive revenue and customer satisfaction within the targeted category
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
  • Work in a matrix organization
  • Lead strategies
  • Work with multiple suppliers
  • Strong customer focus
